On more than one occasion I have sent in a Charles Schulz signed sketch for authentication and more often they seem to have trouble doing the authentication.      The latest was a signed "Snoopy" sketch.  This particular piece I have a strong confidence in.  However, JSA returned it "Inconclusive" meaning no opinion one way or another.  And a credit toward another authentication.

First, I would like to say KUDOS to JSA to Opting OUT when they can not come to a solid conclusion instead of just failing it just to collect the money like that "other" authentication company.

But the dilemma is still, WHO is qualified to authenticate Schulz signed art?     We have the sport experts, historical experts, Hollywood experts, Music and Space at JSA and PSA..  But for cartoon art like Schulz??

I've acquired a good level of knowledge with this signature and hand-drawn sketches over the decades.   But, as we know to be marketable often requires an independent 3rd party opinion like  JSA or PSA..

Maybe if you can get ahold of the curator of the Charles Schulz museum for an opinion.

am confident is genuine... But, the objective is to get 3rd party certification....

how about Marcus ?

is he a PSA or JSA authenticator?

The point is, I am trying to find out if PSA or JSA have any on staff with expertise in Schulz.  Apparently JSA does not have such a resource at this time..?   And I definitely do not want an authentication company to "fake it" just so they can charge $100.  JSA demonstrated impressive ethics by NOT offering an opinion based on lack of house expertise and hence offered a credit...   I am not sure PSA would do the same based on my experience.  So the last thing I want to do is send to PSA, and they ALSO do NOT have a Schulz "expert" , so they fail it and charge the $100.

Marcus Brandes of Isitreal.com.  He himself is not psa or jsa authenticator altho some of the people on his 'board' I believe are.  I think the Sculz looks good imo

Kevin, contact Kevin Segall. He is the UACC approved authenticator for illustration art. His email is kevinsegall {at} gmail {punkt} com -- I don't know what his fees are, but I would think he's your best bet. He also offers a lifetime guarantee on his authentications, though, again, you'd need to ask him what that exactly entails.
