I know. Not sure on this now to be honest.

Nothing yet from the seller?

The front is the same also...

Im thinking a high class copy. There is no other reason for a border appearing from nowhere. Not sure if the seller has himself been conned?

The original Legendary Auction says it comes with a full LOA from PSA which the current seller does NOT have. It is possible that it could be a front and back laser print OR perhaps even the real deal that has been stolen (thus explaining the lack of the LOA). A real head scratcher.  Maybe Mr. Roger Epperson could weigh in?

It is a mystery.

The original photo appears to be a lot darker too...

There is also a spot on the front of the card near the Beatles name in the lower right hand corner...a spot on Lennon's left cheek...and what appears to be some sort of scuff mark on the right side of the card near Lennon's head...which doesn't appear on the sellers photo.

The marks are on the sellers card...and there are 2 marks on the card near the head of Pete Best...on both.

Seller has emailed me back as follows

I dont take offence at all. and I cannot and will not say that I am 100% sure. if it is a copy its a damn good one and like you said, its only the border which is giving me doubts.

dont feel bad if you decide not to go for it, there are now 50 watchers which is crazy so I know someone will buy it. likewise if you do buy it and decide its not for you I guarantee you would have no trouble selling it as I have never had so many questions asked by so many ebayers over one item.

have a think about it. if you decide to go for it let me know and I will include with it another signed Beatles photo which has been signed by Pete Best and George Martin. and I can guarantee that one as I got the sigs myself!

off to bed now. let me know tomorrow.

Thoughts???

I was once selling an item and a person contacted me telling me he thought it was a copy. The first thing I did was removed the listing and did more research and found out it was in fact a copy.

I think that's what the seller should do if they were honest, but it seems like they're just looking to pawn it off to the highest bidder and hope they don't figure that out.

Absolutely. He can say that he has not offered any indication that it's genuine and walk away with the cash.
