I wish you would start a new thread with those forgeries on them.

I wanted to add a signature study on Nick Mason to help prove this is a fake.

So with little effort I found another identical Mason from the same forgers hands (I see these often).

I put together this graphic to show Nicks signature from best to worst so you all can understand what is what. He signed anywhere from Nick Mason to N_M_ and if you have ever got him in person (I have several times) you would know that the first signatures are better but then if tends to go down hill when he's signing 50 things for 5 people haha. Anyway, the big mistake is the forger doesn't know how to interpret Nick's rushed signature (which is far easier to forge so it makes sense they are attempting it). They are trying to replicate the rushed version on the upper right obviously but they think that it is a M_S_ as in "Mason" but they are wrong, it is N_M_ as in his initials. So because they think it is "M_S_" (a shortened version of "Mason") they are adding the second "N" before it and then modifying what should be the "N" in Nick to a "M" so to speak.

Again, I challenge anyone to show me a real Nick Mason with the double N. They don't exsit. If Roger thought this was a real Mason he just has not seen a slew of these forgeries before like me and he may have just thought it was signed twice or something... idk.

If anyone wants me to do one for Gilmore I can, and Wright too. Roger is the harder one to argue cause he can sign so badly and sloppy. I mean, to me, his looks terrible but because of his inconsistancy It would hard to do a graphic and shows what I know from getting his autograph in person at least 20 times over the years personally.

Wow now I see what you mean.i just assumed nicks first scribble was a mistake he made.cant believe the forger thinks that scribble is any way nick would sign his first name.

Thank you for your comment. It's easy for me, but I have been on the streets getting autographs in person for 25 plus years. I am also a massive fan and devoted my collecting to Rock n Roll. It helps that I know who signs, what they are willing to sign, how the signatures look through the years and so on. I also have not only seen my items get signed but dozens on my friends as well and like Roger that is the only way you can get the expertise you need to authenticate. Even then, i can be hard to guys who signed so inconsistently sloppy. Steven Tyler for example.... some are so bad... The other thing I know is how to spot a fake and specifically how to look for patterns. Eric Clapton is among the worst in music, there are so many fakes that are PSA'd and so on. But if you ever get auto's in person you know that even the most consistent signer never really signs the same way twice so when you see 100 Eric Clapton's that are almost identical you know somethings up... he didn't sign them.

If the "professional" authenticators actually sought out the long time collectors of particular signers or bands,,,,you know... the guys who have actually been there getting the autographs time after time, they would never be in this position. You would think instead of being proven wrong again and again, they might do something about it.

This simple graphic in an authenticators reference file could have been there for years if they just asked the real collectors.

You would hope so I am sure Roger and Steve Grad had a nice data base but whether it gets used or not is another question. The difference is Roger has gotten almost everyone to sign personally and Steve used to just get autographs at those Star Conventions in LA and that is more or less how he got tied into Collectors Universe. As far as I remember he would almost soley get Star Wars autographs. I could be wrong but I am not that far off. I see how now and again in LA when on his in person buddies takes him to meet someone but that is really rare. I am not sure if Rog's graphs anymore either but if we are the anything alike it's hard to give up the habit. Roger is still everyone's best option even if this got his blessing.

I found another one with a fake Mason like this.

That helps stiegs
Could you do the other boys as well it helps me out as a young collector.
Nice wall Paul.
Thanks Paul.i would like to see that also .thats if you have the time to do it stiegs.

tomorrow, thank you for asking Paul.

Sure. I will do it tomorrow. I can break down Rick and Dave but Roger is harder just cause he can sign so sloppy it is not recognizable. I'll just focus on the legible versions though. Thank you for asking.

I bought single autographs of pink Floyd. I bought a Waters authenitcated by JSA. I bought a Gilmour authenticated by JSA. I bought a Mason authenticated by JSA. I bought two signatures together signed by Gilmour and Wright and was authenticated by Roger Epperson and PSA.

The other signatures are all at Roger's now to be evaluated. I hope they are real. Time will tell.
