Hi - I 'm researching a massive collection of in-person signed photos belonging to an old Finnish music & concert producer/promoter. It includes hundreds of photos of various stars and bands who have visited Finland from the 1960's to the 2010's. The collection also includes a couple of scarce items which have not been got in Finland nor in-person but have been got with a manager's help or by some other way from the backstage/dressing room.

I'm kindly asking your help in researching this signed photo of The Doors. The gentleman owing the collection worked with the group's record label in Finland and also visited Sweden as they were having their concert in Stockholm in 1968.

He never met the group in-person but was lucky to get this signed photo with a help of the band's Swedish record label. The photo has been hanging on a wall for many years and that's why some of the signatures are not very clear anymore. Unfortunately, e.g. the signature of Robby Krieger is almost non visible.

The signatures are not printed nor stamped. Please, be kind and give your judgement about the authenticity of them. They really look like real ones - but could they be secretarial?

Here's one that was sold by Bonhams:

Thanks - one more similar photo with different kinds of signatures. It is easy to compare Ray's first name even if the other names are not that visible in these scans. One more example proving that these would not be printed (unless someone finds something exactly same).

I believe these signatures to be real. Since I'm now in possession of the photo, I've enclosed hi-rez enhanced images of the 4 signatures. It is clearly visible that these are not stamps but genuine ball point pen signatures. Also noticeable to the photo is the indentation to the surface of the the photo where the signatures appear. But the final word will come from a leading music authority. Robby's signature will be posted a second reply. Due to file size I was not able to get the 4 together. Stay tuned.

Well, it's now official. The Doors photo that Tomi opened this discussion with, is real! Three people who I consider to be the best at authenticating Doors signed items deemed this photo to be authentic. They are Roger Epperson, BallroomDays67 (Mark), and JackGotLuck (Jack).

Roger Epperson was so adamant about viewing this photo in person, that I shipped it to him. And I'm glad I did, because not only did he determine that it's 100% genuine, but that The Doors signed this photo from a stack of photos they were signing at the time. You are able to see light impressions of their signatures on the photo, other than their true signature. That's amazing!

Think about this, this photo was signed in 1968, next month will be 2018. This photo will be 50 years old.

That is fantastic...congratulations!

Congrats again, Walt! It's a true rarity. All of the examples I've seen are posted in this discussion.

Congrats Walt! You're very fortunate to own it.

Congratulation!! Definitely one I would keep for a while.....

Great news about this item - and I'm so happy it got a good new owner. The original owner of this item is still working hard with music business even if he is already 82 years old. He was happy to sell this - as he thought it would be finally time to pass this forward.

Please, note that the signed album single presented here earlier is still available for everybody!
