I found out this evening that Ellis Cedell Davis, one of the core recording artists for the Blues label Fat Possum Records, passed away on September 27.  He was born on  June 9th, 1926 in Helena, Arkansas. Mr. Davis was the last surviving key artist in the original Fat Possum Record lineup which brought Hill Country Blues to the public in the 1990s. Contemporaries to Mr. Davis were Junior Kimbaugh, RL Burnside and T-Model Ford. He was a legend in the Blues community and his presence will truly be missed.
