Brigitte Helm, pseudonym of Brigitte Eva Gisela Schittenhelm (Berlin, 17 March 1908 – Ascona, 11 June 1996), was a German actress. An icon of German silent cinema, she was made famous in 1927 by the film Metropolis directed by Fritz Lang, in which she played the double role of Maria and the robot woman. You have starred in around ten silent films and 16 talkies, almost always playing femme fatale characters
