William Oliver Stone (New York, September 15, 1946) is an American director, screenwriter and film producer. He has directed twenty films, the best known of which are Platoon, Wall Street, Born on the Fourth of July, JFK, Born Murderers, Nixon, Alexander, The Doors and Any Given Sunday. Sunday. He won the Oscar for best director twice for Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July and the Oscar for best adapted screenplay once for Midnight Express.
