John Lennon signed copy of Mind Games LP.  Almost certainly signed in 1974 during his 'lost weekend'.

:-) Indeed Michelle.

It may be worth mentioning that Tracks have OK'd it and it has a LOA from Epperson.

Thanks guys. It was a Bay purchase (and a bit of a risky one I might add). The story the seller was giving might have been true but was more likely a load of old flannel IMHO. I much prefer another story I heard which is that when Julian went to see his father for a holiday (I believe around this time John was recording Walls & Bridges) John signed a few of these for Julian to give to his school friends when he returned home. This story explains a number of things about the album and the signature (eg why it's not dedicated), but, as always we need to remember a story is just a story.

Hi Nate, im happy for you and your purchase, but that story throws me from the ebay seller.
It makes me wonder how the hell did it get in the uk.

I agree Paul. Which is exactly why I believe the story to be more of a fairytale (and it was very vague and 3rd hand). If the other story of a few being given to Julian is true then that explains how it got to the UK. But, again, these are just stories.

It's quite unusual for us in the UK to see signed John Lennon solo albums simply because he never returned here after 1971 so I can see Paul's point.

On the other hand once you accept that it's possible for a few signed copies of "Mind Games" to have made it over here and just concentrate on the actual signature I can't see much wrong.

It's very complete for a John Lennon signature from the 70's but as unusual as that might be it has to be a bonus really. Also the style of the signature fits perfectly with the time of the albums release.
