What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.

1986, I was still 9 years old. My father bought a wooden plaque of mini Mickey Mantle cards with a small unsigned 5x7 for $40. He used to own the cards as a kid and it was his favorite player. I went back to that shop weeks later and bought him a gift, my first “single” card, the 1962 Topps #18… “Managers Dream” for $12. We were hooked.

Finally had Mickey sign the plaque the first time we met him, and I still have the card that started it all.

Why do you want to join Autograph Live?

Need expert opinions from people current on the hobby, as my expertise is a little dated and I’m not as up on this as I used to be.

Once upon a time I was considered an expert on this, but haven’t been involved in that side of the hobby for a long time.

Why do you collect?

Pride of ownership and bragging rights, probably first and foremost! I prefer less common items and more rarities that others don’t have.

What is your favorite autograph in your collection?

See the Mantle story above… although I finally met my idol Rickey Henderson and got my authentic As jersey signed…
So a tough one.

The RDJ signed Iron Man helmet rocks…
And don’t get me started on the signed comic books…
