October has presented itself with not only being able to add to the music collection, but also sports and even some actors!  I write these blogs to let you know who has been signing and who hasn’t, in case you may want to try when they come into your neck of the woods.  I realize everyone has a different experience, and people might change their moods from day to day.

I have a genuine, mint condition, 3rd ed. AA Big Book signed by Chris Farley just months before his death in Dec. '97. I met him, became friends with him, roomed with him....I've cherished this piece for many reasons but now thinking of parting with it in an attempt to help fund another person's rehab. Some autograph collectors only want signed memorabilia. There’s nothing wrong with 8x10s signed by your favorite actor, but they’re a dime a dozen. You can go into Pink’s and buy a hot dog, and looking at a wall full of signed pictures.

A script signed by your favorite TV show, or cast members of a movie you like, is a lot more interesting. To me, a step above…

I never watch Jay Leno, because he's really not that funny or good at what he does; but Dave Letterman has been repeats all week.

Well, Justin Timberlake was promoting Social Network (a great movie, if you haven't seen it yet). Leno set him up, getting him to talk about the Lakers and how they'd go all the way and win it all. He then brought out Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat (the team that recently won the LeBron James Sweepstakes).

When I was 19, I saw a crowd of a hundred fans surround his tour bus. He signed one album, and threw the thing about 100 feet, and walked into the hotel. It was bizarre.

Crowes singer Chris Robinson is a tough autograph to get. He'll sign, but just a few as he's walking by.

One time, his pregnant wife -- actress Kate Hudson -- was at the show. Now, I was once standing next to Kevin Bacon's actress wife at a concert (can't think of her name at the moment). She was dancing the night away.
