Hey John...I know this all too well...since I posted the "Sandy" example a while ago...there is no question your ball has a Club House signed Mantle on it...Iam sorry but it is not authentic...I have many examples I will post tomorrow when I can get to my examplers on my computer of authentic and clubs...when you see a Team Mantle signed ball...9 out of 10 I would say are club house...Mantle did sign team pieces but had very bad signing habits...JSA or PSA would tell you the same if you wanted an expert opinion...

ok Cee Gee, I see your point, to me the ball in that same posting is very similar to mine, you called that a clubhouse, others could'nt call it.

Shame because mine is in such better shape then his.

So is the value pretty much halved? In my limited research an authentic would go for $1200 plus.

What would a club be worth?

Disappointed, but you guys know better than me.

I see your point, but it can get so subjective.

I don't think I sign my sig the same any two times, and when you consider signing on a sphere...

no problem.  I understand that it can be confusing, but Mantle's clubhouse signatures are well documented.  I am fortunate enough to have a '61 Yankee team ball with a real Mantle and Maris.  Most of them are clubhouse.

The majority of NY Yankee team-signed baseballs from the 1950's contained a Mickey Mantle "clubhouse" signature.  The one posted here by John Michaels is a "clubhouse" version of "The Micks" sig.
