Cop Out -- The Memorabilia Movie Out Now!

Okay, okay. It's really a parody of the buddy-cop movies of the 80s. And, it's a nice pairing to have the very funny Tracy Morgan, and Bruce Willis, the man who's played a cop in over 100 movies (or so it seems).

It was okay. It had enough laughs that I didn't mind seeing it. It could've been so much better, though.

Anyway, the cool thing is that to pay for his daughters wedding, Willis is going to sell a 1952 Topps baseball card of Brooklyn Dodger Andy Pofko. He mentions one selling at an auction for $80,000. When I Googled, though...I saw that some go for a few hundred dollars, and mint condition cards a few thousand. It was the first year Topps made baseball cards

Yeah, I always found that interesting that an earlier Mantle card was worth more...all because of the Topps name and all that jazz.
In the movie, they explained exactly what you're saying about the rubber band on the Pafko. Thanks for adding that here.
Ya know...they showed a commercial for that movie HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. And as they were talking about all the women they'd sleep with, I just kept thinking about how you could score cool memorabilia like this!!!

Part of my collection that is not on any of my websites, is I have complete Topps Baseball sets of cards from 1964 to date (1964 being the year I was born). From 1979 they are all factory sealed. From 1984 I have many years with multiple sets.

Dang Duncan, you have some cool stuff in your collection. The 1975 Topps is my favorite. I loved the dual colors on the sides of the card (Robin Yount and George Brett rookies are nice, too).
I have a great basketball card collection. I'm guessing one of the best collections around. I stopped collecting when Jordan came into the league, and card prices skyrocketed so much (never got his rookie, but have a Bill Russel rookie, among many others)
