Before I continue, below are links showing hundreds of examples of forged Mickey Mantle baseballs, photos, etc. found on Ebay (the most dangerous place to buy autographs if you're a casual collector or impulse buyer).

When does an autographed photo with the inscription "NO 7" sell for a whopping $102.50!!!
When it's an ugly and laughable forgery.
The below forged Mickey Mantle photo was sold by Ebay seller Korfhagegroupllc for $102.50.
The seller writes "Verified and signed by owner John Fried."
Who the heck is "John Fried?"
Look at this train wreck.
Ebay continues to be a cesspool of forgeries. Sellers of forgeries are very aware that Ebay is heavily-populated with delusional autograph collectors and impulse buyers.
Forgeries are a huge business on Ebay.

Dang, he didn't even spell his name right! Truly a piece of fake garbage. I even shy away from buying "real" autos on eBay because I just don't want to support a place that allows blatant illegality
I don't blame you, Robert. Ebay has the resources to remove forgeries; they did it before.
