So I am originally from ElCajon California and recently my dad, who is a NASCAR fan, came to visit. He said the Jimmie Johnson boy me and my sister used to hang out with who raced dirt bikes and had all those HUGE trophies in 8th grade was the same guy who drives for NASCAR. Today I found my junior high year book with his pic and an autograph..Just wondering why the spelling of his first name changes so often..I was looking on Wikipedia and found it spelled Jimmie and not Jimmy but NASCAR spells it Jimmy..any ideas on what the deal is? He was in my class and his picture and autograph are in my year book year:1988
Not sure why that is, Angela. He still signs as "Jimmie," and what is even more amazing is his current autograph looks pretty darn close to the way he signed his name in the 8th grade! Notice he still puts 2 big loops at the bottom of his J's and the top of the J's are fairly small. This is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing! What a great story.
By the way, do you still like Josh? :)
IM NOT A BIG NASCAR GUY - HAVE COLLECTED SOME DRIVERS BUT I GOT JIMMIE JOHNSON A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND I STILL PULL FOR HIM BECAUSE HE WAS SO NICE ABOUT SIGNING AN AUTOGRAPH FOR ME AND THE OTHERS WAITING. DON'T KNOW HOW HE USUALLY IS BUT WAS REALLY COOL THAT DAY.
Hey Angela...you can like another Josh in San Diego! Watch me on Fox 5 San Diego each Friday morning.
That being said...yearbooks signed are worth LOTS AND LOTS of cash, so if you ever wanna sell it, you'll have plenty of buyers. Thanks for showing it here.
