Mickey Mantle Signed Photo Forgery EBay Seller Alternative7man

Here's another typical Mickey Mantle "Florida" forgery.

This Mickey Mantle forgery is listed by EBay seller alternative7man.

The COA from MFP Reborn is directly related to the following bogus COAs:  Nicholas Burczyk, Myst-O-Graph, My Favorite Players, YMC Sports and others.

This piece-of-crap Mickey Mantle forgery (listed by EBay seller alternative7man) was probably purchased at a local auction, charity auction, estate sale, Proxibid, AuctionZip, etc.   These forgeries are purchased by people with ZERO knowledge of autographs and they are only looking to flip their forgeries on EBay for a tidy profit.

This is my item that I have on ebay, I made it clear that I do not guarantee anything, just stated what I have.  I have 100% perfect feedback and run a tight ship.   I am disabled and make a living going to auctions and selling on ebay and it tears me up so see crap like this being aimed at me with my name and everything.

Thank you for posting the very first negative thing ever on the internet about me, I really appreciate that.

Then you shouldn't be selling items that you know nothing about.

Guarantee or not you are responsible for what you sell. You told your buyers they can bid with confidence......you dont think thats somewhat of a guarantee? Photo belongs in a shredder.

Your not as naive as you claim. You obviously knew how to list it for.

Whether you know it or not yet but YOU ARE THE ONE SELLING A FORGERY. Isn't that a negative thing?

Well written, Rick.

I'm on the fence with this one. I like the other 99% of people in the world am not an expert.
Why should he need to know anything about autographs and Mickey Mantle in particular to put it on eBay?
I know nothing about furniture so if I buy a chair from the shops and they tell me its vintage why can't I sell it on eBay as a vintage chair?
I know nothing about jewlery. If I want to sell my wedding ring which comes with a letter of valuation why can't I?
What if the ring is fake? I didn't know. I trusted the valuation from the jewlers.

Sure nobody ever wants to buy a fake so I thank you all for pointing them out, but often these people that are being bad mouthed are just people that have been sold a fake themselves and didn't know it. Now instead of pointing that out to them politely it is being put out to the world that they are a bad seller. That in my opinion is wrong and in nessesary.
Sure complain about the guys that sell and create a heap of fakes. This guy looks like he sells furniture, he didn't write on this photo.
It's people's lives and business's that can sometimes be ruined by people running them down. If its called for so be it, but in this occasion and others I have seen I don't think it's the sellers fault. Everyone can't be an expert on everything they sell. If they were the majority of us wouldn't be asking for advice and sending items to 3rd party authenticators.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Problem is most of these folks know they are selling forgeries. They just play stupid.

Mykaphobic,

Look at this guys auction real close. Then go read the other auction Chris Williams listed from EBAY Seller beast_of_the_east and look at it real close. Notice how both auctions use an * asterick *? Both auctions also state specifically I am not an authenticator.

HMMMMM...think maybe they are the same person? Interesting. Maybe the estate sale auction gave them a Micky Mantle EBAY auction template.

EBAY sellers are responsible for what they sell whether they know its a forgery or not. Most of these dopes dont react to simple polite messages. Its when they see there names here do they occassionally chime in. Those that get sent a link to here that keep quiet for sure know they are peddling phonies.

Yeah I understand.

The thing is this site is great and full of experts. Before I came here I had never heard about Florida forgeries. I just assume most other people haven't either.

And I do notice that he hasn't pulled it down which is the 1st thing one should do when informed of selling a fake.

I've been collecting autographs for a long time (basketball) and have one mantle item. I have read so many posts on here on mantle autos and still don't know if mine is real or not. It's not as easy for the rest of us than it is for you guys :)

I would of hated that if I chose to sell it one day I ended up on this site as selling fakes when I didn't know. Of course now I know of you guys here I would show it before I sold, but for people that don't know about this site what are they to do? Espessially when you guys have showed so many fakes that have the GAI or GA Coa also

Thank you Mykaphobic, I know everything about antique furniture and guns and alot of other stuff, nothing at all about baseball or autographs.

I can tell you this, that I will never buy another one or try to sell another one, this has been a really f***** up experience already...and to you guys trashing me, you have no idea what I have or if its real, how can you?   All I offered was what I have and what I see, I made that clear in the auction, nuff said.  The only reason I got it and offered it is that it was from a very nice collection...people that forge stuff suck, and people that pay huge amounts of money for some damn ink on a slip of paper are stupid in my opinion,  I'll stick with my furniture and guns from here on out.

Just don't label me!  I'm not like that!

Comment by Rick Meyer on March 17, 2013 at 9:09pm

Excuse me but didnt you buy some damn ink on a piece of paper?

I think people that buy old chairs are stupid. How bout that?
