Princess Diana's Dress (Galileo, Galileo, Galileo finger ohhhhhh)

In London, a black gown that's a bit on the racy side, sold for more than $275,000. Lady Di wore it on one of her first official engagements, and a Chilean fashion museum snatched it up. But who wouldn't, at such a great price!

The dress caused a minor scandal when she was pictured wearing it to an event in 1981, but not nearly as controversial as Monica's blue dress (which I'm still surprised hasn't hit the auction block).

Apparently royals aren't supposed to wear black unless they're mourning.

The dress was part of a collection that had a blouse Diana wore for her engagement portrait in 1981, among other garments.

A pink blouse Diana wore in Vogue magazine shortly after her engagement was bought by a museum in Ireland for $38,000 (talk about a steal!).

A calico toile fetched $29,500 (I know so little about fashion, I thought that was a cat).

Over in Florence, Italy...something that belonged to scientist Galileo made it to a museum. It's not up for sale, but I'm guessing it's something autograph collectors would like. It's the fingers he used to sign his name with.

Two of the fingers were removed from his corpse by admirers in 1642.

The museum is called The Galileo Museum, after the museum director found the thumb and middle finger at an auction.

They're on display in a glass case, along with his tooth, and a finger they previously owned.
