Just looking at the Jim Morrison signed check thread and noticed that item was purchased through Kenneth Rendell Gallery of New York.
I wasn't familiar with the Rendell gallery so I took a look at their website and checked their current inventory. One of my collecting likes is Elvis Presley so I did search of the Kenneth Rendell site for my man Elvis. Up comes a signed and inscribed 1956 Elvis album.
There is but one picture of the item along with a detailed description. What bothers me that I don't believe the inscription and signature...being ascribed to Elvis Presley was written by him. The style of the writing is all too familiar as that of a well known forger...at least to my eye.
The Kenneth Rendell Gallery of New York is asking $17,000.00 for an Elvis album that appears to me to be a fake.
The single photo shown on their website is included below...I'd love to hear your feedback...

The asking price for this phony Elvis is actually $17,500.00...not the $17,000.00 in my opening post...
Updated for accuracy...
