Hi all. I was wondering what you'd make of an item I saw on eBay that caught my eye.
It would be very interesting to hear what other Doors fans would have to say to this.

Well, subject aside, they are modern prints. There are 3 current listings priced from $100  - $200 with Make an Offer on some, BIN's on all, free shipping, the feedback shows sales of what one might well guess are the same images last year...there are no assurances how many have been printed or will be printed, who the artist was, they are not signed, obviously no color correction or restoration (I'd like to do that), no assurances of how it will be printed or on what paper, no watermark and a large scan...I would not be inclined to spend very much. They don't scream "from the negative" to me - one is really grainy and one looks like a scan of a print actually. What do others think?

I spoke with the seller. He said he is owner of the negatives and on some will print 100 and the one offered now will print 50. Dont know if that makes a difference?

Hmm, two seconds search and appears all of these images can be seen online at the website below, cropped differently, and in much higher quality, since 2012 and with no mention of photo credit from a quick read through.

"Never before seen"?

I assumed it would be the same images that were floating around for years. Thanks for sharing the link. That site has some interesting content.

It's the same seller who offered those photos on eBay back in 2012. They hadn't been seen prior to that. I believe the images in the link were taken from his eBay listing.

If so, someone did a half-decent job of color correction, but I don't see how they could have enlarged some of the images sideways and improved the resolution especially on the very grainy one which would have to be an enlargement *the website image) if stolen. In any event, those are now gone/pulled.

They're probably lower quality images than were used for the original eBay listing in 2012.
