Hi,

My name is Selma and I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am not a collector per say, I found a signed picture of The Beatles in my late fathers old stuff. I know he was a huge fan when he was young and I don't think he had the will or the means to forge an autograph. It has been sitting for years in his old house and no one knew. Me and my brother found it when we cleaned the old house where no one lived for 20 years so I'm hoping it's genuine. I'm also hoping you can help me with your comments on the picture.

Thank you

First of all... please check if these are printed on the paper....
It's not printed on the paper, it's signed by a pen. Please don't insult my intelligence:)

haha.... Sorry Selma... didn`t mean to insult your intelligence! :))) (Just know that many of the promocards sent out from the fanclub were autopen signed cards..with first name only.. The Beatles very rarely signed by only their first names... ) you can read more about it from the top here: http://www.beatlesautographs.com/promotional_cards.htm

Anyway I`m sure there is many others on this forum who knows more about this, so I`m sure they will help you soon:) Good luck

Thanks, any information is welcome.

Hello Selma

What you have there is a fan club postcard.  These were letterpress stamped thus leaving an indent in the photo to look like pen pressure.  These were mass produced by the 1000's in the 60's.  Hope that helps

Roger

Hmm.. It really looks like it has been written by hand, but I'm not an expert and this is only a scanned picture of the autograph. Thanks for your insight.
