I know what happens to Sharpies on baseballs, but what about a red leather boxing glove?  I’m looking to get a leather Everlast boxing glove signed at a private signing. I was told to use a black sharpie, but my concern would be the signature fading or bleeding over time due to the surface being leather. I also have obvious concerns about dealing with a paint pen (dry time, smearing during shipping, etc.). The glove will have to be shipped back to me so smearing would be a problem.  Should I just scrap the idea of using a leather one and go for a vinyl glove with a black sharpie? Would a paint pen ever even dry on a leather surface?  Any input or advice is appreciated

For leather I would always go for an paint pen.
