Jaco Pastorius Letter and Signature

I have a letter written to me by Jaco Pastorius in 1979, in which he answered a lot of questions I asked him about bass playing, gear, his influences and music in general.   I sent a scan of the letter to Jaco's late widow Ingrid several years ago and she featured it on her Cybernest website in tribute to Jaco.

The letter is getting a little fragile and I've decided to sell it.  Can anyone give me an idea of what it might be worth and also what would be my best options for selling it?

That is an amazing letter. I sold a signed programme for just under £500 a few years ago. I’d estimate this is worth around £1,000 or more. It is rare to see a handwritten letter from Jaco.

yes  its a really nice piece.  I suppose you could put it up on ebay or consign it to  an auction house but dont forget they will take quite a large commission
