I’m not an expert on Maradona, although I did see him play in person one time, in 1984.

Here is a Maradona autograph with impeccable provenance; it resides in the Vatican Museum, and is inscribed to Pope Francis.  I took this photograph myself, in October 2019:

Thank you, yeah from what I seen online seems pretty far off but maybe it was a rush signing? not really sure but from what you showed it doesn't look real to me.

I did see him play once as well but much later when he played in Newls all boys.

Nice that you saw it at the Vatican, would love to visit one day.

It could be a rush job, but it’s atypical and, as such, I’m not confident in its authenticity.

Looks to be signed on a copy of the American Sports Illustrated magazine from 1986.

So, if it is legit, where and when might it have been signed?  The 1994 World Cup, perhaps, where Maradona played in just two games, both in the Boston area?

Does it come with any provenance that links it to a situation that would make sense?  Without strong provenance, it’s a no from me.

Thank you, it was wishful thinking. My wife got it for me for my birthday but i didn't want to tell her I wouldn't of bought it. Oh well Ill still look around to be 100%. Thank you. Regardless it's a cool magazine :p
