Hey everyone,
I just joined a few days ago but have been reading the threads and thought that this might be a good place to ask for an educated opinion.
I have a rather large collection of older cut sigs (mostly signed labels that are about the size of an autograph album page/3x5).
A lot of these signatures I will be keeping for my collection but some of them I have multiples of, others I feel that others would be better able to appreciate (people that were before my time and really don't have historical value to me specifically).
My main question is, what would be the best way to sell off this portion of my collection? I feel like lotting them and selling them all at once would not be advantageous. I am not in dire need of money right now, but would like to get rid of some of these extra autographs so I can buy some other autographs I've been meaning to add to the collection. I've been toying with a lot of ideas, listing them up individually on eBay as cuts, framing and matting them with 8x10s and selling them that way, maybe going to an autograph show and seeing if I can find a dealer. In your experience what has been the best way?
My other question is- some of these people are musicians and artists from the 60's/70's that haven't really stood the test of time. While their autographs are rare it seems that most people that know of them or are looking for their autographs will not be around forever. Is it better for me to try to sell these people now or do you think there will always be a market for these harder to find autographs?
I'd appreciate any input!
Thanks!

R&R is good, but they charge a high percentage (20%) or something. The buyers pay that, and the sellers. Yikes!!!
Might be better to just sell the pieces on your own.
If you give us a list of the names you have, we can give you a good idea (or possibly buy some).
Obviously, signed albums, programs, concert tickets -- are way more valuable. Cut signatures aren't worth as much -- it would have to be big names: Morrison, Hendrix, Joplin, etc. Even if you do cut/matt/frame them.
