Hi everyone,

This is a very interesting website on a collecting specialty I don't know very much about. I usually collect antiques, firearms, and tools, but have always been a music lover with hundreds of CD's and deep interest in 70's and 80's music.  I came across these 3 albums at an estate sale. They all had a COA on the back and were priced really cheap (the ELO had the invoice and had previously been sold for $225, I paid $70 for all three).  After starting to research them for value I found many references to Autograph Central signed COA's by Bryan Slaven (All 3 of these have them).

Disappointed and I realize they might all be forgeries, but since I believe they were originally sold around 2006 (the 1 invoice had the date), I'm putting some hope and some photos up to see what everyone thinks. If just 1 of them is authentic, it would more than cover the minimum cost i paid for them (please let it be the Boston album!).

I had no idea there was such blatant and large numbers of forgeries around. If they are forgeries I just can't sell them without disclosing that they aren't real. Might give them away or hang them in the garage.

I found it interesting that the ELO album is stamped "FOR PROMOTION ONLY, Ownership Reserved by CBS Sales Unlawful" on the back upper corner.

ELO - Signed by group

Boston - Signed by group

Sgt Pepper's movie album - Signed by Alice Cooper, Bee Gees, and Aerosmith

Thanks for any help!

Hello,

I am not an expert but i have never seen anything good come out of autograph central. I dont know elo or boston well enough to say for certain but i can say that the sgt peppers album is bad. The alice cooper sig doesnt look right and neither does the joe perry or the barry gibb. I could be wrong so i would def wait for others to comment but i have a feeling their all bad.

Chris

Hi as a serious collector of elo and having many personal dedicated items plus some really rare signed programmes from the face the music tour and nwr i feel many of the signatures are fakes.Bev bevans is totally wrong as he is so consistant,iv never seen a hugh mcdowell signature like that, kellys and jeffs and miks are a good effort but again feel they are wrong.Sorry about that..

Yes, I believe everything they sell is bogus.

I spent a lot of money on albums from them years ago, and when I asked about how they were acquired (since they are super, super rare), they had no further contact with me. Any legit company would have NO PROBLEM telling you how they were acquired or giving a refund.
