Paid for the PSA quick peek and it came back "Likely not authentic" but they don't say why they think that.

Well, they had private signings with Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford, Mark Wahlberg and (I think) Robert Downey, among others.  But other ones are advertised and then delayed, delayed, delayed - apparently for even months or years.  I checked the Mark Ruffalo private signing that was scheduled for the summer, and that never happened apparently.  If you ordered Daniel Craig this time last year, you were told the signing would take place in early 2012.  Never happened, and if you pre-order now, you basically get the same message (signing early 2013).  I was tempted by the Bale pre-order, until I realized that there was just no sign of it actually happening.  With no refunds, it would feel like throwing my money into a black hole.

Rich,

If they do not hold the signing and you paid they would have to give you a refund if the signing did not happen and also have to refund you if it was postponed. They can't just advertise a signing and then cancel it and say no refunds.

With the questionable sports items they are selling I would venture to stay away from everything.

Ah, my fault for not reading all the fine print.

Regardless of delayed signings, prices, etc. I'd just always thought the Celebrity Authentics side of things was completely legit as far as authenticity goes. Maybe they are, and it's only the Girdiron side of things that is spotty. But I'd have to agree - I'd rather just stay away from the whole business if there's that much in question.

Peter do you happen to have images and opinions online for posting on the charity items?  Perhaps the sports collective AML members can chime in as well.

from a 2010 show they held but I haven't seen any others at the moment.  Doesn't mean they don't have them and when Brady does sign it is typically hundreds of them as his fee can be staggering.

However, having said that I did wonder about Celebrity, Hardwood and GridIron.

DB,

I do not have images or online opinions I do however have a stack of about 30 rejection letters with every item listed on the letters the letters also state "Item has GridIron Authentics hologram #xxxx" To show that that was the actual item that they failed. The signatures are the same that they have listed now.

When I contacted them they gave me a no questions asked refund to the tune of almost $10k.

As for the signing that GridIron had listed from 2010 that was actually a Sureshot and New England Picture event.

I can not really comment on the Celebrity stuff they have on their other store because that stuff does actually look good to me but who knows..

Interesting as they don't list who the sponsor of the signing event was and it would give the appearance that it had their involvement especially where they are selling tickets or so it appears;  Autograph Tickets On Sale Until Tuesday, June 15th.   Although I checked the sureshot past signings and didn't see anything related to Dave & Busters..

$10k and no questions asked can certainly be a two edge sword but 30 rejection letters does raise a red flag.

I am not sure of the logistics around that signing but I will find out for sure this weekend when I see Mike from Sureshot.

As for the rejection letters, not that it will really do anything one way or another but I can post them to back up my statements 100%. However with the proof from the recent Quick Opinions that should go to show people something about this company not to mention the boat load of the sam items that they sell over and over by the hundreds. Am I off base on this? Who really has that many Tom Brady Super Bowl footballs that they can run 3-10 auctions a week with them for the past 5 years or more and still seem to have an endless supply of them.

I'd go ahead an post a few for posterity.  As we all know QO has been very checkered in their calls as well as perhaps "ultra"-conservative.

I've heard Gridiron Authentics has been notified and asked to join the discussion.

Nonetheless, when that many are rejected and there are no questions asked it causes me great consternation.

Here are a hand full of rejection letters. i actually made 1 mistake I thought I took these to PSA/DNA but I guess I used JSA for these. Which in case may be a good thing because neither JSA nor PSA like them.

ouch

And hey Pete, does Sure Shot have an actual shop somewhere? I live in MA and am fairly regularly in the area they seem to ship out of. Seeing the assortment he has I have a feeling I would have a heart attack walking such a shop.

What time frame were the JSA rejection letters issued?

Certainly doesn't speak well for their claim;

Each hand-signed collectable is witnessed by a Gridiron Authentics representative and returned to the office for certification and inventory.  You can rest assured that your item is authentic when purchasing from Gridiron, Hardwood and Celebrity Authentics.
