FEEL FREE TO SHARE YOUR T.T.M. OR S.A.S.E. BASEBALL AUTOGRAPHS YOU HAVE RECEIVED PAST OR PERESENT

Hello Fans...I figured I would throw this out there for strictly baseball collectors who seek to get autographs through the mail the old fashion way...directly from the player...I have received probably over 100 autos but stopped maybe 4 or 5 years ago when I lost my contact list...but recently started it up again and since then received a few autos through the mail since the end of July...it is now currently (August 2011) so now I am hooked once again...please feel free to add pictures and comments about the autographs you received from BASEBALL PLAYERS with a simple envelope and stamp and not something you have received through the mail from a winning auction...

Feel free to include autos you got for free and also Players that sent back a request for money as that also happens from time to time or even if they wrote you back which is also an added bonus and a rare treat...

LET ME KNOW...

HAPPY COLLECTING !!!!

Where is a good source for addresses for TTM?

I use Startiger.

Typically just send them a letter with a card/pic/whatever you want signed?

What about postage? Pre-paid return?

Yea.

If the athlete charges a fee. I like to fold the letter and slip the cash inside. I put it in a standard white envelope and write fee enclosed on the outside of it.

When you go to the PO, they'll weigh your package and you can get return postage to slip inside of your envelope.

Then you're GTG.

Interesting... I'm new to the hobby and very interested in trying it out. How do you know if the athlete charges a fee? Does it say so on Startiger? (also didn't realize you had to pay for Startiger... =( )

Whats up Ryan...yes Jason pretty much summed it all up for you here...startiger.com is a awesome web site that has many many address...the fee is quite cheap to join and totally worth it...as far as people that ask for donations or charge they will usually send it back unsigned with a note or price list...best thing to do to start when trying out is a retired athlete...send for example a baseball card in a standard sized envelope with a smaller envelope inside and a nice letter...typically it is a stamp for the big envelope and the smaller envelope...to cost for the request to come and go both ways...and no need to be weighed at the PO...also...you have to be patient and it is not a sure thing either so make sure when sending you send something that has no value to you or just a common or reprinted card...Bobby Doerr is probably the best guy to try first because he has a usual turn around of about 7-10 days...I can send you the address tomorrow...he is a good first guy to try...

It'll say on Startiger if an athlete charges a fee. You can also see what other people have sent and return times, sometimes they'll mention if they sent a fee if it's not listed.

Got this in 3 days shy of a full year...damn this was a while...Roger Erickson on a original Topps 83 or 84...

Yeah that's an '83 Topps.  Beautiful autograph.

Thanks bro...I love those cards...perfect for signing...

A bit shaky sig, but TTM success from Bobby Doerr!!! (Also received a HUGE Jaguars TTM success that I posted pix of on the TTM comment wall!!!)

2 HOF RedSox Legends right there...its a real shame Ted is not around to be added to this awesome image...pretty damn sweet bro...
