Any of you guys ever try to sell autographs on Ebay?  I mean geez, they make it ridiculously difficult.  I recently became disabled and needed something to do.  For some strange reason I thought it would be a good idea to buy autographs at estate sales and such and resell on Ebay.  PFFFFTTT  boy was I wayyy off.    If my items aren't specifically authenticated by one of their "partners" or whatever, they decide to remove it.  How can anyone run a business like that?  The whole point of my buying these were that they were fairly cheap because most of them weren't authenticated.  It's not like people weren't bidding on this stuff either.  I had a couple of Jackie Robinson autos that were authenticated by Drew Max at AAU, which had ALREADY SOLD that were removed.  I was waiting for payment and these fools removed my listings.  Any advice here?  These people are really getting on my nerves.

Not to be a pessimist, but if you bought Jackie Robinson autographs cheap, there's a better than average chance that they are not authentic.  You can always post images on this site for opinions.  Maybe you got a great deal, maybe not.

I can tell you that the consensus on this forum is that Max/AAU authenticate many forgeries of (what would be) many high end autographs.  Hence the stigma associated with Max/AAU COA's might be such that ebay has a hairtrigger reaction to any AAU items deemed questionable.  Or else they were just blatant forgeries.  Hard for us to know without seeing the items.

Is this post serious? Because it reads like a dead-on parody of every questionable dealer that gets spotlighted here.

They removed forgeries..................and they are the fools for preventing you from selling them? Whatever!

Yes, I am serious.  Apparently you have heard this before though.  If these are blatant forgeries, then I apparently got ripped off as well.  But I assure you that everything they removed was not a forgery because they removed every listing I had, auto or not.  It seems like they are rather gun shy about it period.  If it's that much of a problem, why don't they just stop allowing autographs to be posted.  Does Ebay really have an autograph "expert" in their company or are they just randomly removing things?  Apparently I picked the wrong hobby to start messing around with with no experience.

Post a picture here of what you had removed that you know wasnt a forgery.

Question....why should EBAY ban selling autographs when some sellers actually sell authentic ones? Why should they be punished because some sellers who know absolutely nothing about autographs try and buy $30 Jackie Robinson signatures and try to flip them for a fast buck?

I'd bet 90% of the forgeries being sold are known to be forgeries by the sellers. Not all of you are innocent victims.

Hi everyone - I am new and hope not out of turn posting this:  here is my experience with Ebay and selling autographs.  I am a collector and reseller.  I have excellent reputation on eBay as seller and buyer.  I collect many things but recently couldnt pass up a large - mostly damaged collection of Rock and Roll Albums.  They were in garage at an Estate Sale.  If any of you go to Estate sale - I can assure you - some are ran by less then knowledgable dealers so deals can be found.  So first thing I notice is that most signatures are aquired in last 10 to 15 years on older records - for example S&G 2002 on a 1968 record - this is normal especially for the estate owner - he work in the industry behind the sceens.  Anyway, I check the sigs and I do all this work and out the gate - ebay flags me for only the Ringo Star and McCartney - not Johnny Cash, Stones..etc.  So next round of listinngs, I put in option that states: "I offer you a COA upon purchase, cost to be added to final auction price.  If item is unable to be authenticated for any reason - I will refund your money back."  Again I am top rated and 100% since 2007 so this may be why they let me sell...thats my two cents...also most my stuff is damaged in one way or another so its pretty low priced and I like to auction - my goal is to get a rid of it not keep it.  That all said I got some questionable items I will be posting.
