I've created my own website for autograph store...

Topsignatures.com

For just a brief background on me, I'm a collector first and foremost, I certainly keep the vast majority of everything. However, in this economy, and with my unsteady profession as a teacher, I've had to try to sell some items to make ends meet. Plus, this is a costly hobby as you all know as well, so it helps to offset some of the costs.

Anyhow.. I'm really not trying to post in order to peddle any items. I really want an honest opinion of the website which is Topsignatures.com.

I have been doing in person autographing for over a decade, but as many of you have done also, I'm made purchases as well and also traded with others. I know I had been a little naive in the past about some of the purchases and have cleaned out a good portion and literally burned some that I found to be 100% fake.

The last thing I want to do, and I cannot stress this enough, is to put fakes out in the marketplace. That is not my intention and I never knowingly sell a forgery, obviously this is the biggest issue in the autograph world and the most talked about topic on here.

So anyhow.. any constructive criticism is certainly welcome and if you want to click like on my facebook page as well I'm actually running a giveaway contest for the month of March. I'm giving away a free Willie Nelson signed record album, one that I got in person myself as I've met Willie on several occasions.

Thanks!

Hey Tyler! Took a quick look, I'll be sending you a friends req today..... Good luck & have a great day!

Thanks Brian. Much appreciated. Take care!

The David Bowie was obtained by a close friend who I know had it done in person nearly 20 years ago.

The other three you mention were purchased from various people over the years. I don't see how they are bad forgeries. Like I said, any constructive criticism is certainly welcome, but I would like to hear why you think that.

Like I said, I have never knowingly sold/traded bad items and might need to clean up a few more items, but would like to hear why. Signatures do vary from time to time and certainly changes over the years or in certain situations (rushed, sitting down, etc). But, the David Bowie I know is 100% legit because of where I know it came from.

Hi Tyler,

Unfortunately i have to agree with Dexter on quite a few items. The first one i guess is the David Bowie. It really isnt even a good attempt, and is off from any Bowie pattern i have ever seen. I dont know who your friend was, but im afraid he wasnt honest with you about where he got it. I am almost positive its bad.

Looking through your inventory their were many names im not familiar with, but when i looked at the musicians i was seeing a definite mix of good and bad items at about equal amounts. I can go back through them when i have some more time and list the ones that look bad to me, but unfortunately i did see quite a few that looked bad.

Sorry to report such news and by all means wait for others to comment, but i certainly wouldnt sell anything yet until you get things straightened out.

Well.. as stated, any constructive criticism will be well received and appreciated. I have never faked an autograph myself and doing anything harmful is not my intention.

I'll take the Bowie down and keep it in my personal collection, I know it's good and I see my friend who I obtained it from on a regular basis. Believe me, he's not a scam artist in the last, but its ok. I'll keep it.

I would like to state that in the musicians category, 71 of them at this point are ones I had obtained personally out of 127. So its more than half that I had done myself in person.

Well.. thanks for those comments. I removed the Bowie because of the stir it caused, like I said before, I never, EVER knowingly sell fake items. That is not my intention ever and I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if that was the case. I do not sit here and forge items and try to pass them off. We all have made purchases before, you simply cannot get every single celeb in person and of course some have unfortunately passed on which makes purchasing the signature the only way to obtain it. Anyhow, as we all have done, I may have purchased items that were bad. I have tried to clean up my collection as best as possible and even have burned some. In fact, I have a few more that I have no doubt are fake and was going to throw those in the fireplace too.
