Folks this is huge, I believe there is a forgery ring in California.

eBay seller bigwhaledeal sells nothing but forgeries. (And makes alot of money each day doing it.) Folks these are the same forgery style that eBay seller "packitin24" made a living off of in another post of mine. These are all out of California. TONS of Lebron/Kobe/Durant/whatever star they need.

eBay power forgery seller bigwhaledeal has a 99.5% positive feedback rating from morons who are pleased with the quick shipping and low price of their "autograph". If people would take the time to read the negative feedback they have received, they would know that the autographs are indeed forgeries.

Look at this garbage:

Not sure, but I've tried looking up several of them on Upper Deck's database and they aren't finding them.

Is anyone familiar with Upper Deck "certificates"/stickers, do these look correct?

Mr. Walton isn't forged too often, I could see eBay seller bigwhaledeal trying to throw in a few cheap authentic pieces to disguise his mass amount of forgeries.

sorry late to the discussion.I'm in the mist of reading operation bullpen, and one of the things that was said in it was that a lot of the forgers mix in real autos, in an attempt to throw people off...I have a few UDA items.  Several of them did't show up in their online database, so i emailed them and they told me that they were indeed authentic and are in "their database".  little weird, but oh well.  and yes the certs & holos look like the one with the bill walton

This was a reply i got regarding one of my items:

Hi Dave,

Thank you for contacting Upper Deck via email.

The photo does correspond to our database and is Upper Deck Authentic.

Congratulations on your new Upper Deck item!

I'll say that I got Kobe's autograph in person about 15 years ago when he was still a teen and beginning his career with the Lakers...ie; he was not a superstar yet.

As far as I can tell you (I have the autograph put away and havent seen it in years) he signed way differently back then, this is crap what they have selling at Ebay on this seller's account.

Hey this guy bigwhaledeal has 9 more forged Lebron James 8x10s for sale right now.

eBay thief bigwhaledeal magically got 10 LeBron "autographs" overnight!

More Puig and LeBron "autographs" magically. Imagine that!

HIDEOUS  http://www.ebay.com/itm/LeBron-James-Autograph-Spalding-Basketball-...

eBay thief bigwhaledeal made $130 yesterday off of 3 items including a moron who thought he got a Durant signed jersey for $52. LMAO.

Ughh.. Looks like i was one of those moron who fell for a LBJ autograph 11x14.

Even left positive feedback :(

I know you guys mentioned that people were trying to warn but he only has 4 negative reviews in the last 6 months.

2 of the reviews:

"SCAMMER! Fake COAs. "

"Probably fake."

Pretty obvious red flags, not to mention the fact that this seller magically gets new "batches" of autographs every night. Also not to mention that these LeBrons look like chicken scratch, just horrific scribbles not even close to the real deal. Hope you can get your money back from this thief.

Opened a case with Ebay.. we'll see how it goes.

I don't think the red flags were as obvious as everyone thinks. At the end of the day, it is my own fault for not doing more research but with 99% feedback response, i felt well about my chances.

I'm pretty new to collecting autograph photos in general. I only mainly try to collect my local team players. That being said, what's to say all other COA's on ebay arent fake? Should i automatically assume that any autograph with COA from a Chinese seller is bootleg as well?

A lot of COA's are fake. In reality, they are just pieces of paper, but naive buyers perceive them as meaning the autograph is 100% real. If you are getting sports autographs, stick with PSA/DNA or JSA certified items. Feel free to run any potential purchases by us here on AML.

LeBron has a deal with Upper Deck, which is quite pricey. Just remember if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. And that a COA is just a piece of paper.
