Am I missing something here? I expect this to have more bids and higher sell price. Is something wrong with this auction or ball? Authenticated Miguel signed baseball are going for around $150 and this one is MLB authenticated. Just want to see I am missing something on this auction.

looks like it sold for $99 with 1 bid. i don't find this that out of the ordinary (I got a Steiner Cabrera ball on ebay for $76 two years ago), as the pictures on it are pretty poor quality and you can't really see the auto too well. From what I can see, people may have been hesitant to bid as the auto doesn't look too bold (maybe it's faded since 2003), and it also doesn't have the typical "24" on recent autographs following his signature. Also, the style of this auto looks different then most other Cabrera autos found on ebay, most notably the "M". Could also make people hesitant to buy. Perhaps he has changed his auto since 2003, or people are questioning it's authenticity.
It is his earlier signature while playing for the Marlins. It is MLB authenticated (actually someone there to view the signing) which is better than PSA/DNA or Jsa since they are TPA, so that got me scratching my head. Oh well, someone got a good deal on it.
I own several MLB authenticated pieces, and agree it's better than a 3rd party authenticator..I'm just trying to think of reasons why it would sell for less. Perhaps, people bidding on ebay may not be aware of MLB authentication process. And as I said, the auto doesn't look that bold (may be an artifact of the flash in the photo) and to those that don't understand that his signature has changed may be hesitant to purchase. Also the picture of the hologram, looks like it is lifting off.
Also with ebay, if you start two identical items - one with a starting bid of 99 cents and one with a starting bid of 99 dollars...the one with 99 cents will get way more bids and more likely a higher ending price. not exactly sure why it gets a higher price, but it does. i know this from selling stuff on ebay since 1998.
David, I noticed that too. I wonder why. It would seem more risky starting at 99 cents but it does seem to end up with higher selling price. I guess the lower price gets more views and bids, therefore, a bidding war occurs.
