Hey everyone! So I've always had a small collection of fun stuff, but recently I realized it was time to cut down a bit to regain some of the cash I've spent or even make some. A couple of years back I went to a memorabilia show and came across a guy doing the exact same thing, cutting down on his collection for significantly reduced prices because he was a bit desperate for money. I feel like he was legit because he had many items signed IP with pictures to back it up including a guitar from Pearl Jam among others. However, one item of his caught my eye in particular, a first act guitar signed by all of the members of metallica that was relatively cheap (between 200-300 if i remember) because he had lost the pictures or authentication certificate so he was being forced to pretty much give it away. Being about 12-13 (18 now) I coughed up all of the pennies i had saved up and brought it home with me. I never hung it up or even displayed it, it has been sitting in its original box since the day I got it. Now I'm trying to figure out if it's authentic or not so i can determine if it's worth it to cough up the $100 to try to get it authenticated from JSA (they're local). If anyone has any ideas on if it's authentic or not or what it's worth please let me know!

mm i don't like the sign of james

I wouldn't touch that with found money. Photoproof these days really dont mean much as anyone can learn a little photoshop magic and put anything signed in a photo proof shot.

I don't like it, looks same hand

Sorry, the signatures are not real...

can anyone tell me if this is the real deal?

claimed to have been signed by metallica when they played at the 02 arena back in 2008

Antoni

that's not legit, meaning it's a forgery

ok! how can you tell?

i emailed the address on the supposed C.O.A and this was their reply

hi antoni , glad you are happy with your guitar , the signiatures were obtained for me by my suppliers , it was when metallica played at the o2 in london for a special fan club gig , the band were staying at claridges at that time....  richard

Antoni, all are signed by the same hand and far too neat. None are genuine and of course the seller will claim the item is the real deal.

Have you purchased this? If so, how did you pay, if by credit card you can get your money back.

I aquired it from a guy who worked in promotions as a part trade.
