Have been called on the carpet i.e. a listing I have on ebay-re a SIGNED ball by Joe DiMaggio in that the COA is worthless and the ball signature is fake or not a good one

I have another ball also signed by JOE D and the COA is from JSA

and I have Joe DiMaggio's book from 1957 SIGNED by Joe D

so what is a collector and ebay seller to do when someone calls the item a fake

and that item has a COA attached

Need some direction,

The first ball is a definite forgery. The COA is worthless. Take it down from Ebay.

The JSA ball is fine and has not been questioned. The book may be genuine as well. Post a close up picture for additional opinions.

Stick with JSA or PSA/DNA certificates on baseball stars and you will be OK.

If you don't want to spend the money on the fees, post pictures here and you will get free opinions before posting autographs for sale.

That is the best advise I can give you.

The "2nd DiMaggio ball..." is fake. The right thing to do is to either get a professional opinion on it and if it comes back as fake (which I would bet money on) then destroy it. That COA is worthless.

A "COA" is just a piece of paper, it's all about the signature. The item in question with the printed off "Best of Baseball"  COA is no doubt a forgery. As collectors, we would appreciate it if you would destroy the item. If you have recently purchased it, try and get a refund for it.

The JSA ball and the book are fine, the ball is really nice!

ebay item has been removed.. tried to contact The Best of Baseball etc and only a message machine gave me some help.

You did the right thing. Hope you can get your money back.

Both Mantles are authentic. I'm not very familiar with Lema but it is also likely genuine.

not only are the Mantle's authentic...They are BEAUTIFUL!

The Dimaggio ball and book with the JSA are authentic as well. The Dimaggio with the Bed & Breakfast COA is unlike many easy to spot forgeries we see everyday. Still, I do not believe it is authentic, however. It may very well have been signed in April 2013 like you state? Unfortunately, Mr Coffee has been gone since 1999. Good luck!

meant to say 1991

but 1991 was the book signature

I agree the DiMaggio with the mom and pop coa is a forgery

The DiMaggio book and ball are 100% authentic and are beautiful pieces.  The exact opposite for the first DiMaggio ball.  Nice finds.
