Hi all. This is my first post reaching out to those within this forum regarding a specific memorabilia question. I 'd appreciate any assistance from 'Ali' and boxing experts in general regarding a signed print that I have the opportunity to purchase (the same signed print pictured in the below link):
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251579611888

My question does not necessarily surround authenticity of a piece, as they are limited edition prints. Rather, my question is: When those prints come onto the market, what price do they usually fetch framed and unframed? Or perhaps, 'what would you pay for it?'
I'm guessing that the ebay seller above will struggle to get what he is asking for it.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Lofty,  I don't know the issue price but that maybe not matter at this point. There  were a issue amount of 250.Recently as of last week a ebayer in Australia had one for sale with a opening bid of AU 550, with no takers. His Australia ebay ID is:  Peimaneh11    Hopefully this is a help. Be Patient and Good Luck !!

Not sure about that artist, but similar lithographs I see selling for 400-600, sometimes a bit more.
When the print was first released it had an RRP of $3500 but these days you can pick them up for around $1000 if you are lucky. How much can you get one for.

This is the one Don is talking about - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Muhammad-Ali-Limited-Edition-Print-/1713509...

This auction price seems rather high in price and unless you despearately need it I would wait as others are coming on the market and will go for between $400 and $1000 if you are patient

Thanks to all of you for your contributions, much appreciated.
AC: To answer your question, there's an auctioneer I know that has a AUD$300 reserve, with an auction est. of AUD $400-500 (plus 20% fee on hammer price). The item appears to be unframed, and does not mention a COA (allthough, it does have an Online Authentics number which checks out). With all the high prices of Ali signed gloves and trunks these days, I thought I may have found a bargain. It would appear not to be the case though.

It does beg the question: why is there such a difference in the price of a glove and a signed print (particularly as gloves are more difficult to display)? I guess that's an anomaly that the market dictates.

I appreciate all your input, so thank you again.
*22% buyer's premium + 10% GST (goods and services tax), plus postage/storage costs where applicable. All adds up when you think you've got a deal at $400, but are actually paying $530+
Lofty
I know the auction site well that you are talking about. The print will go for around $550 + buyers premium etc
Yep, they recently merged - very established and professional auctioneers. Thanks for the estimate. It would appear that $550 ($670+ inc fees) is still a fraction above market value, but potentially a good investment. Cheers.
