Hi all-

Thoughts on this Dimaggio? It has a scoreboard coa which is really not worth the paper it's printed on. Thanks for the opinions.

I won`t comment on the autograph itself. I wonder if this guy wants to sell it why not get a better picture on only the autograph. Cannot make out the J in Joe at all. I`m sure someone will comment on DiMaggio.

Yeah that's my struggle with crappy listings like this. On one hand some people are just stupid and don't think about listing properly but on the other this is a great way to pass a fake off.

The "g"s are a little atypical, but the piece shows some of his characteristics. In my opinion, this could be an authentic rushed signature. I wouldn't buy it over $200 though; you can find baseballs with his "textbook" signature for much cheaper if you are patient.

I find it strange that he says he paid over $700 for the ball...I'm not sure what the prices were back then, but he might be bloviating.

First thing is first- ask for clearer scans of the signature before you think of purchasing.

I have a scoreboard DiMaggio that looks very similar; got it quick opinioned by psa and came back good.

Just an fyi, Scoreboard was actually held in high acclaim and they sold legitimate autographs. It is the forgers who used copies of the COAs or used the originals and sold them with forgeries that gave them the bad reputation that they have now. You can get some nice deals on autographs if you know the signatures you are looking at as uneducated collectors stay away from Scoreboard certs; got my Joe D ball for $175 because of it.

That's awesome. Thanks for the heads up and opinion. I know scoreboard was at one time legit, problem is with just the card it became easy to copy. Shocked at the price you are suggesting. Would love to get my hands on a legit dimaggio for under 250. Thanks again for the info.

Mike P's Dimaggio is a no doubter. I am not so certain about the one in the title. Even if authentic it is a not a good example.
