See the 'J Morrison' centre top of the photo below, which I have pasted  above a sample of his handwriting. Anyone think the 'J Morrison' at the top looks similar to the handwriting below it?

The 'signature' is from a 1st edition hardback copy of Jim Morrison's The Lords and the New Creatures, published by Simon & Schuster in 1969/1970. I just photo'd it and pasted it above this handwriting sample for comparison purposes.

If you are referring to the handwritten poetry/notes I posted underneath the 'J Morrison' centre top, you are mistaken. The poetry/ notes IS definitely Morrison's handwriting.

I agree....

Um...then what question are you asking, exactly? I just re-read your post, and...it makes little sense. You are basically saying....that you know it's not his signature. But could it be his handwriting? Do you realize, that sounds bizarre? If it was his handwriting, it WOULD be his signature, no?

Call me crazy, but...a persons signature is them handwriting their name.

So, to NOT answer your question, I don't think it's Jim Morrisons signature.

To ANSWER your question, I don't think it's Jim Morrisons handwriting.

The example of handwriting underneath Jim's name is definitely Jim's handwriting.

Now, in one of the books Danny Sugarman wrote (not positive it was him), he said these teenage girls asked for Jim's autograph once, and he signed it something like Lord Byron, or one of the old poets he liked. THAT....would be highly collectable. Of course, the girls probably threw it away, in anger. At that point, you can show that autograph and say "I know this isn't Lord Byron's autograph, but...can it be Jim Morrison's handwriting??"

Okay, but my own signature is nothing like how I would write my name in my ordinary handwriting.

I was hoping someone might be able to take a look at the sample of Morrison's handwriting I posted, (taken from a notebook), and compare it to the 'signature' I cut and pasted directly above it. No-one has commented on that yet.

I've removed the other photos in an attempt to make my point clearer.

The signature in your book is no way from the hand of Jim Morrison. It is a fake signature unfortunately.
I will assume from your answer that when you compare the 'J Morrison' shown in the sample above, you don't think it looks anything like the handwriting directly below it. The interesting thing about the sample of Jim Morrison's notes/poetry I've posted, demonstrates that the way he writes a lower case 's', is nothing like the lower case 's' he uses in his usual signature.

The book I have is in immaculate condition, and is worth having for that reason alone :-)

aaaahhhhhh   everyone is happy

Yes, the handwriting is Jim's, but not the signature! You asked if them signature is similar in writing to Jim's handwritten pone and it is not.
