The scan isn't great, but does this Ford autograph look authentic?  Sold by Gary Harvey

Apparently  Robert Sledz seems to think he knows everything there is to know about Harrison Ford autographs, you may want to check with him.

Otherwise, this is not one that I would have in my silly, useless, little Harrison Ford collection.

Funny thing about people that act like that is that they are never willing to help others out, and generally are just trying to hide something.

Mike - this isn't real.
I purchased this a while ago from Gary Harvey, he has always been reputable and trustworthy and when I bought it people here said it was good. What looks atypical about this one now?

I'm not sure who Gary Harvey is, but for this particular signature I don't like the slant on the crossover of the H, the transition into the 'ar', hesitation around the loop of the F, and the slow pen stroke around what's supposed to be the 'ord'.  For these reasons I would certainly not buy it, but Pete will be able to tell you more, he is the number one guy for Harrison Ford signatures.

Thanks Mike. I think this may be the case of an atypical in person signature. Gary is a good guy in the business and is a member here, so I trust him, but I was weary of the Ford since Im not an expert. Basically just wanted reassurance. If this helps any, he told me it was signed in London at the film premier for Cowboys and Aliens in August of 2011. I can send better scans if need be; I think this one is authentic but your reasoning is definitely plausible. Ill probably send it in to a tpa if i decide to sell

I'm sure Gary is a good guy, unfortunately he got duped on this one.  There's just too much wrong with it to even consider the possibility of it being atypical. If Gary is as good as you say, you should have no problem getting your money back.  Good luck.

Well the thing is he got it in person he said so it is really his word against the signature. He is a good guy in the business but I am concerned about the signature

You're certainly right to be concerned, I would recommend asking for a refund.

I went this route. I purchased it back in 2012. He got back to me and said he is willing to do a ln exchange. Would it be unreasonable to ask for a refund? I just dont know entertainment autographs as well as sports so an exchange would be tricky for me unless I had the help of others.

If you are exchanging for another Ford, I for one, am happy to help.

Thanks Pete I appreciate that greatly. Ill ask for scans if he has any and post here.

Everything Mike T just said along with height of the second line in the H, the loop crossing over the H, the odd shape to the loop at the base of the F and the fact that the whole baseline is askew, with Ford dropping well below the Harrison.....use the AR in Harrison and the ORD in ford.....they should be on the same baseline.
