Anybody seen anything like this before?

What's the deal with Eddie's signature?  Any guesses? It's driving me a little :)

In my personal opinion they are authentic signatures.  The "Eddie" sig starts strong then derails - not in a forgery sort of way (I can't figure out how to finish this out, so I'll just draw nonsense) but more of a dipsy, doodly sort of thing - and I was just curious as to whether or not anyone else has seen this before, or something like it.  I wasn't expecting comments on authenticity (when I suppose I should have been), but your opinion is certainly welcome :)
