I have to say I haven't studied his autograph in too much depth so you might be correct with your date assumption (I took Roger Epperson's opinion on it's authenticity before purchasing).  Though I thought it bore some resemblance to the signatures on his recent Lithographs/Paintings (with the extended straight 'y').

Could be a left handed Dylan sig as those are messier I believe.
