I'm not good enough on James Dean to be able to tell you one way or another. However, these are two sources that I have used in helping me with authenticating autographs. They are two different signature studies of James Dean and show how he signed on personal documents and autographs that are known to be authentic. I'm not sure how much it will help but I thought I would at least share them in case you haven't seen them.

its such a simplistic signture and this makes it easy to be faked well,,,,which i figure could be the reason why short on opinions
