Picked this letter up (Photo 1) recently at a good price.

It's interesting as the handwriting of the content of the letter appears to match others (Photo 2 is a JSA authenticated letter from just a few years later).

However, I have never seen a Hank Greenberg signature where the "Hank" looks like this, most notably the "H".

Perhaps, it is being sent to someone he knows (as he did not write his last name either) and therefore printed, rather then signed his first name?

I think the consistency in the handwriting is enough to be pretty sure it's an authentic letter, but wanted some more opinions!

writing looks consistent, I agree the Hank is a little strange, but overall looks authentic.

What I notice is that in the first letter all the "Y's have a blunt stroke and in the second they are all looped.

Thanks guys, for your feedback.

I noticed that also, Gio.  However I did find a letter from 1941 where the Y's have blunt stroke like my letter.  This one is also JSA authenticated.  He signed this one with "Cordially" as well...how he wrote Cordially is pretty much spot on.  even where he stopped and re-started --- almost identical 40 years later.
