Hi Guys,

Just joined the site and hoping someone can help. Bladerunner is literally my favourite movie and i've always been tempted to buy a signed poster however most of the time they are only asking a very small amount under £100 which seems way too low to be real (even though they insisist they are real sigs etc!)

https://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Signed-Harrison-Poster/dp/B01G4...

However, I came across this one which is ten times what the others are asking and seems more in the ball park of what I would 'think' this would cost (not being an expert on that myself)

When I looked at the description I noticed it says the authentication is 1.jpgdone by a company called Antiquities of California. Assuming this was an indepedant third party, I emailed them asking them to verify if they did indeed autheticate this and it turns out they are the same people selling it! So in essensse..they have self-verified it!? This raised a red flag for me and I thought I would seek further guidance before committing to such an expensive piece.

I would like to post my email exchange with them also below if that is ok for further provenance and I open this up to anyone and everyone to comment for or against?

Thankyou very much!

Terry - UK

GFA is actually an extension of PSA. It was founded by one of the founding members of PSA, except instead of doing hobbying testing where the auticators take a look through a lens and based on their opinion they approve the signatures, GFA does strictly forensic authentication, testing ink, paper, muscle memory, etc...

“Since 1991 Stephen Rocchi former PSA President, and founder, a former President, CEO and Founder of Global Authentication and was responsible for hiring JSA authenticator Jimmy Spence also a former PSA authenticator. Stephen Rocchi has been instrumental in bringing the three largest authentication companies into the sports world.”

You can read more about their history here.
This is why we use them, there is no one in the business better!

We will have a third party authentication if that makes you feel more comfortable. We use Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators (GFA) that does forensic analysis on all of the signatures. They have a 17 point forensic authentication process that test to verify all of the signatures. They are court approved, and are the leading forensic authentication company here in the states. The poster will come will a full report of tests taken and their findings. I've attached an example of the tests they do.
I'll be happy to do this poster for $1100, with the third party authentication, and our own authentication as well. As I've said previously, we've been in business for 34 years now, and stand behind all of our pieces 100%.
Please let me know if you have any further questions, I'll be happy to address any queries.
All the best,
Yves-Langston

Thanks but I'm not comfortable that your authentication service is carried out in house apose to an independent party.

Don't touch anything from Antiquities with a 10 foot pole. They sell high frame jobs as a smoke screen for forgeries. You can just search them on this forum you'll see what I'm talking about.

Can I also ask if you guys might be able to recommend a place where I could get a 100% legit Bladerunner Signed poster at all?

They are probably really rare to come by a good place to check would be the RACC group on Facebook.

Thankyou

All those actors are still living, and I believe most (with the obvious exceptions of Ford and Scott) do convention appearances. Getting Ford and maybe Scott would be the trick, then the rest you can still go after yourself. I've met a couple of the actors myself, and I rarely do cons anymore.

Don't let Pete see this, its not good for his blood pressure.

LMAO XD

Why did he get burned by them?

I think rather because Pete knows his stuff - very, very well. And these companies mentionedare among the worst in the hobby as far as scamming people out of their money.

Hi,and welcome Terry. You will find nobody better with Harrison Ford than Pete. Sorry I cant help you with a signed Bladerunner poster but feel free to post anything and we are here to help. I do believe there were a few signings with some of the stars, cant remember if it was Celebrity Authentics but that company has had some serious accusations leveled against it as well! I also don't like that signed poster or the source of it.

Antiquities and GFA are at the top of the "dirty" list. And that's a blatant lie - GFA is not and extension of PSA in any way whatsoever.

That listing says AAU is legit, whereas anyone who is actually even of moderate knowledgeability in this hobby knows that AAU is a towering example of fraud.

I am a beginner completely so very glad I checked here!
