Over $10,000.00 worth of Jackie Gleason stickered stuff available on EBAY. Would you pay $299.00 for this?:http://www.google.com/images?q=jackie+gleason+psa/dna&oe=utf-8&...

If people want to defend PSA/DNA then have at it...

Greg, at this point it's like a broken record.   We here get the picture and the continued daylies waters down the thread & findings.  Ya need to find a different twist as in how many AList dealers are pulling thier Gleasons.  We know of at least one....

if we can't find a new twist then I suggest we close the thread.

It is truly amazing how what appears to be a non-authentic exemplar became the standard!  That is the source of the problem.  As far as precerts go, Roste started a discussion on them based on what had been stated here time & time again.  Then he acts like a buffoon on an Auction House Loa (& evidently has no 1st hand knowledge) which is another subject I covered long ago (from experience and interactive discussions with the orignator).    It's far and away from the assertions being made and since he nor we know for sure (direct observation) except what I have been told how they are accomplished.   But that is Roste as he thinks of himself as all that and a bag of chips.

Haven't checked on Legendary and essentially they are going to sell a "secretarial" Gleason... just like auction sites sold secretarial Hestons (after the news broke).

At this point we need to focus on EBay (as they are the only ones I know that can take on the TPAs at their own game).  Publishing the other "alleged" bonafides sites that are continuing to sell them (as we did in the other thread & u saw an alleged claim and my rebutal) is the only way we can ensure that your name, Van DerHoven, is written in the sand as to "who is he, what does he know, how many has he authenicated" character assassin approach.

That's why Mike we have to bring more people here!  I use to be just a subscriber to a magazine ... and then stumbled across this place. Glad I did.   someone else broke the exact opposite somewhere else but did they?  Or is it simply just those places, dealers, and seller of forgeries ('er secretarials) and their associates are resisting it because they loose money?  You are right, it should be highlighted above this blog and perhaps we give too much credit to some credible members around here but I believe the firepower and the avenues exist.   Why they aren't being utilized is a mystery to me...

@ Mike:

What do you mean no news broke?

Greg,

I couldn't agree with DB more. It only makes sense that if PSA or JSA does not realize a common version of a popular celeb's autograph is secretarial, you'll keep finding lots of them. Don't damage your good work by wasting people's time by posting the same thing again and again.

If you really want to help the hobby, keep finding common secretarials sold by reputable sellers or authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA. It sounds like there may be a good number that they don't know aren't genuine. You could probably find a new one ever day for months with the effort you've put into the Gleasons alone.

Now that would be a HUGE help to the hobby!

No excuse for Legendary as they were advised as I understand.  U mean a "pre-cert" but I'd bet a $1.00 if they submit for an LOA (which this price would make sense) they get one of those as well.  Maybe they should send it to JSA so they can recoup their money before time runs out.

$956 with the juice.

They were told the Gleason was secretarial? How? That's very disturbing, if so.

even with the thread rather chewed up with lost commentary there is still a need.

perhaps "vanderhoven" can get off the jug for awhile and get back on track rather than simply nipping at the ankles with his new found pet bulldog...

on the JoeD thread there was an interesting site mentioned and lots of Gleasons...  Like this one;and for a mer $2300.00 you too could own this secretarial version...  http://www.historyforsale.com/html/prodetails.asp?documentid=265732...

the first auto has a faint possibility of being real but i lean towards fake. the 2nd is not even close in my opinion.  sometimes though one must really consider all aspects of the written word.  i know they say andy griffith is rare and he is so well protected that nothing gets signed by him.  i  have however noticed lately there have been numerous ones surface that i believe are real. he has a very distinct signature that has changed very little over the years. i have several signed over time.   myself i would not buy these jackie gleason autographs.   carl.

no doubt carl that there are some genuine ones (not just gleason) on this site.  I was somewhat encouraged about them actually listing Hestons as secretarials (even if they were still selling them) but then saw planet of the apes not properly labeled.

thus, one (when isn't this true) needs to be ever vigilent on finding the authentic one.  It's also unfortunate that many people find AML only after spending their money foolishly.  Even after finding it there are perhaps a few who continue that time honored tradition.

I've seen a number of authentic Gleason's for sale on various auction sites lately. Perhaps people are figuring out what's secretarial and what's not, and the authentic autographs are being pushed into the marketplace. Or they're just a new line of forgeries based on the authentic Gleason's and my untrained eyes for Gleason can't tell.

Brick,

Would you mind uploading images of the ones that look genuine that you've seen? We'll have them checked out.

Thanks
