The Mantle on the ball is a clubhouse, but I think the Maris may be real.

How nice is the early Mantle on the TV script?

Best,

Maris is definitely authentic

Thanks, enough of you guys vote, I can add that to my post. An auction company who shall remain nameless agrees that its' real.

I don't like the Maris and believe it is indeed a clubhouse.

I think the Maris is good (he tended to sign these team signed baseballs, albeit on the side panel) while the Mantle is definitely clubhouse.

While the formation of the autograph is close, I have never seen a legitimate Maris signed on the label of a team ball nor have I ever seen a Maris with the "i" dotted from a continuous stroke from the "s". Also, the "R" is off from legitimate ones and he did not connect the "R" to the "o" in his early version.

I have seen this clubhouse version on side panels at times and defined as such by both PSA/DNA and JSA.

Of course, just my opinion.

Damn shame the Mantle is definitely a clubhouse, that would've been one of the nicer balls I've seen. Still a very nice piece, but yes the clubhouse does hurt the value quite a bit.

That is a very nice Mantle on the TV script. Looks like 1951-1952ish sig, is the script dated? Not sure what values the other 3 command, but I'm not sure if I'd put this at $1,000 realistically. A script isn't an ideal medium for an auto, the personalization is another knock. Here is a nice auto from around the same time listed at $1,700 obo that will never sell at that price and hasn't even had 1 offer:

Here's one from 1951 with more writing than yours that is listed at $869 BIN and probably still won't sell at that price:

If yours gets in the wrong hands someone will turn that into a slabbed "cut" immediately I fear... I would cherish it. Realistically, if slabbed by PSA/DNA I think you'd get $650 if your lucky IMHO. Thanks for sharing!
