Paul McCartney signed microphone

What do you all think of the macca signed microphones that just sold on eBay. There were 10 of them and they almost all sold between 3-6k each. Granted they all come with Coas from Paul's company but you can almost get a set of Beatles autographs for that much. Does the fact that it's a musical instrument put it up in the signed guitar category?

I think another factor is that they were for charity.

I wouldn't mind owning one, but not at the cost of a full set of Beatles autographs. I agree that the charity aspect likely affected the prices.

Sure made 300 McCartney and The Who serially numbered mics.

The first 10 of each were signed and placed in charity auctions. McCartney signed 10 mics and Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend signed 10 Who mics.

The other 290 of each are being sold at fixed prices, unsigned.

Oh yeah,...a charity thing does effect the price. Most of the final prices are not what the piece would normally  sell for...
