Ballroom, you are amazing! And, Steve you could still be right. It might be a simple theft case rather than Government case. If you could prove they were stolen from your safe, would you be able to sue to get them back from maybe the 4th owner since theft?
Generally, you would be able to get them back.
wonder what result of investigation was.... yeah, if the result was that the fbi will be after you if you are owner, that would be very pertinent for potential buyers to know!
Apparently it was in a large Doors collection from the time of the Sotheby's auction until 2011, when it was consigned to a music memorabilia store. I don't know who's owned it since then.
There is an amazing forgery of this document I believe I still have a copy of at the office. If so i will post it next week. You will amazed.
Thanks. Do you know if the legal status of the document was ever settled? It was reported to have been part of the file on Morrison's arrest that the Miami Clerk of the Courts in 1991 thought was stolen.
