Has  RACC  always been A closed group?

I looked them up but when you sign in .No Access.

How do you join . I hear them mentioned a lot.  Is there a trick or something.

I must admit I am not 100% Sicilian ,But I don't think that is the issue.

What am I Missing?

Greig,

Please post the autographs the RACC's authentication service failed to see what members here who know certain autographs think. You've used member input here over the years, so you know you'll get valuable input.

That could keep you from wasting money sending in highly questionable autographs.

It could keep you from unknowingly selling fakes to your customers.

And it's the fair thing to do for the RACC's service and collectors.

What I guess I don't understand, and I don't mean to be rude or negative so I apologize if it comes off that way, but why didn't you just use Roger to begin with? RACC was cheaper?

If they had said everything was authentic would you feel like you got your moneys worth then? If they said it was authentic would you STILL get Roger's opinion on it to see if it truly was?

That is what I don't understand with paying anyone for an opinion. It is very "damned if you do..."   if they say they like your item. Great! They say its bad...then second opinion please.

I don't know, like here, some of the RACC guys have a pretty level head, but Roger has been doing this for what 20 years or more? Still even he makes mistakes...To error is human and you paid hundreds of dollars for a (multiple) human opinion that may or may not be qualified to make that opinion in the first place.

I think it is probably best to error in caution rather than have people question an item, like we all do with some PSA and JSA items. Personally I would like to see these companies fail all items that aren't 100% clearly authentic rather than guess on lines and squiggles.

Sorry I didn't mean to go on a tirade. I agree that it takes more than a few in person encounters to make a valuable opinion, even with an example file, more has to go into it like you said and not everyone is qualified to make those educated guesses. Just like on AML there are worth while opinions and those wasted.

In life and autographs, you have to figure out whose are worth listening too.

The reason I used autographcoa is because they have an online certification check. Much like PSA and JSA. But they were cheaper than those two.

I sent an email to RRAuction a while back with a list of autographs I had and many of these they said they would take. So obviously passed their authenticators.

When every single one came back negative I knew something wasn’t right. So I took 3 out of the 25 to Roger. (I cant afford to get them all checked after wasting $500 on this this mob)

out of the three two of them cane back as genuine.

I doubt I’ll get any money back from AutographCOA. Hard lesson to learn but when I have some more money I will go to Roger.

I just wish I used him in the first place now. Lessons learned. Use an authenticator not in person collectors.

Let’s see the 3 autographs that you submitted to Epperson. Pretty much a useless rant without the backup

For what its worth from a person who isn't an "expert" and doesn't get paid to do this.....

#1 has something I haven't seen on legit MJ's, an embellishment at the end of a "hump style" Jackson - meaning when he does the embellishment it is usually on a fuller signature where he reaches for letters in both the Michael and the Jackson part.

#2 is a secretarial imo.

#3 doesn't look real to me at all.

These are just my observations.

So you don’t like #1 just for that embellishment? The rest of the signature fine?

Greig I have never seen an embellishment on one that is humps only.  I have over 1000 exemplars and none are humps and an embellishment.  Just my two cents.

Re the Joe one - 100% authentic, and a gorgeous vintage piece.

Greig can you complain to a fair trading board in the states and get your cash back? I agree their opions mean nothing if your consigning to auction.

I honestly don’t know. I’ve appealed to PayPal but doubt I’ll get anything back. Just a really sore and hard lesson to take.

Ive had some of the items looked at and some have been proven genuine by others.

Greig, should have know n better! What gets me is ive tried to sell graphs which have passed epperson and these guys call them fake , as well as some mates same story, we'v had no trouble consigning to auction.
