I know darn well there aren't many enthusiasts on here of one of the greatest bands known to grace the music world, but let's see if this can draw them out

This might come up for sale by me, and I emphasize might.

Do you think it's legit and what do you think it's worth?

Longtime RUSH fan myself, as they are my fave band.  Went to most Dallas area shows (and one Austin) since Grace Under Pressure tour.  But I knew they were tough sigs, espec Neil, and never really tried for them, nor most other Dallas hounds that chased more than I did way back and to date.  But I really wouldn't pay for them to own one, too pricey in general and I rarely buy autographs anyway, only IP for me pretty much.

My only Rush-related autograph is from Aimee Mann on the cd single shown here

Very cool Todd, thx for posting that

Gotta luv RUSH fans. One of the tightest fan bases of any band.

And the classiest rock band ever to grace this planet

Buying their sigs aren't too bad... ya gotta wait for deals. But I mean $300ish all signed is cheapest on average.

On average it's about $200 per member, BUT you can get Neil's sigs in his books for about $130ish. I have several still sealed.

I'm really happy there are Rush fans here and thx for posting

Jeez, I must be nuts to even consider selling this piece because I KNOW how rare it is

I first saw Rush Live in '77 Vancouver BC... I was 13 years old

Here would be another considered item to sell.

And because I believe in being fair (as many here obviously don't... ya that's a jab) I would consider $300

I'm passing on good deals because I get good deals and that's how I think it should be here on AML. This was signed for someone special and it's easily seen in the sigs

But I must be clear... I do not need to sell. I'm just posting for interest evaluation.

I'm not much of a Rush fan (prefer Michigan rock like the MC5, Seger, Stooges, etc.). The Rush fans I know are faithful, loyal and legion. I'm curious why Neal won't sign for such a great bunch of folks?

he was a recluse traveled on his own.didnt do the meet and greets

so it wasn't that he didn't sign he just didn't show up.u really had to hunt him if u wanted all 3 .the other 2 always signed.

This is a topic that comes up a lot and Neil often get's slammed, but truth is...

I wouldn't call Neil Peart a recluse because he didn't retreat from society, but he does shy away from meeting strangers. In fact, he's always been an extremely shy person and used books and drums to find a comfort zone. He doesn't do the meet n greets or many interviews or signings because he gets extremely uncomfortable. I don't want to say he gets panic attacks, because that's not right either, but its something like that. He does talk to people he meets on the road and will have his picture taken. He's an extremely nice person, but he is a very shy person and that's why you don't see him sign as much as Alex and Geddy who love the "limelight" haha

Also...

One of the main reasons Neil started signing less, was because of the greedy people who were hoarding his signatures when on sale or free and then they would appear on ebay. This really made him mad and he shut down further.

He used to give a free signature when you bought a block of his custom drum sticks. He used to sign his "Bubba" calenders. He used to raffle off his drum kits. He used to sign more lithographs. But people started to buy up all these items and then sell them. Neil signed for his true fans, but the greed of sellers made him stop. Now if something comes on the market from their website, you can only buy a limited quantity of two I believe.

Neil is shy and he's a loner.

And... Neil has a personal friend who moniters ebay everyday in search of forgeries and has been authorized by Neil and a contract w/ ebay to remove forgeries. And this is why you won't see many Rush fakes. If you do, it won't be there long as a large group of Rush fans also keep a watchful eye. Rush fans are among the best and that has never been disputed

Hope this helps

I would love to own a fully signed pic, but with two kids in college, I can't shell out the $. Someday lol. Here is another Rush related auto I have. Neill Cunningham. The guy on the Power Windows album. He owns a record store in Toronto now.

Here is a 2112 cd I got signed by Curtis Armstrong. He played air guitar in a Rush episode of American Dad.

that's great stuff Dave

It was years before I found out the Power Windows guy was a real person haha

And I didn't know he owned a record store in Toronto either

Here is a fantastic deal on ebay for under $300

These are 100% Legit, but a little rushed (pun intended haha). If Alex added his L, these would be a near perfect set imo. And it's not often you see Neil's P with a large loop and makes it more desirable

It's cheap and hasn't sold because of the personal notation, but it's a great piece with all 3

Here is the story behind the above item...

Hi there. It was signed about 10 years ago. A friend of mine who's a pilot was flying the band from concert to concert. He called me from Alabama and asked what my favourite Rush album was because the band was willing to sign for me. Geddy and Alex were the only ones flying. Neil was travelling on his motorcycle as he was dealing with personal issues. I asked my friend what if Neil's bike broke down, how would he make the concert. He told me Neil was travelling with two other bikers and if something happened to his bike, he would just hop on one of the other bikes and make the show.
Geddy and Alex asked my friend if he wanted Neil's autograph as well. They signed it and then took it to Neil so he could sign it. You will notice that Neil's autograph is signed in a different ink colour on the CD.
That's the story behind it.....
Thank you.

It's very difficult to find a cheaper deal than this and btw I do not know the seller.
