Hello,

I purchased this autographed photo on eBay of Tom Holland. It is authenticated with JSA. When I ordered it I asked the seller if the photo was pixilated he said it was not and looks great. Well the photo is pixelated and I was just wondering what I should say to him. He also forgot to tell me that he wrote on the back of the photo. Not an autograph he wrote Tom Holland I guess Incase he forgot he met Spider-Man idk.I was also wonder if you thought the autograph was legit. I have enclosed photographs.

thank you!

I never mentioned or implied it was a fake. Don't know the signature. I am just responding to your lack of satisfaction. If you are not happy today odds are you won't be any happier a year from now.

If the signature is 100% legit I’d totally be satisfied with it that’s the issue lol

Listen to your own advice. You have stated several times you are not sure. "If" above implies you don't know if the signature is authentic. That Holland and this Twain you just posted appear less than average in terms of desirability. The Twain seems light on ink...I can point you to a thread discussing the qualities if an autograph if you like.

The Shania Twain is on a piece of old sheet and it’s a nice photo of her from her 90s era when she was on the top of the charts. I feel like the Twain is real I’m just not an expert so I like second opinions. I’m doing my best to gather info about authenticity. Could i see the article that you’re talking about please?

Hi Brandon. To feel good about your sigs, youre going to want to invest your time in studying them - theres no better way to feel good about pulling the trigger on something.

Everybody makes mistakes. TPAs included. Thats why you have to satisfy yourself. Nobody can do that for you.

What everyone is doing is telling you what THEY would do - but they arent you. Your tastes, your tolerance for imperfection, etc. - those are all factors unique to YOU.

You have expressed enough doubt to warrant a return. Otherwise, you just need to listen to your heart. Good graphs come and go every day. Dont settle for something you dont feel good about.

Moving forward, spend some time studying the sigs you want to collect - separate the clear fakes from the possible reals. Then come here and ask advice, BEFORE you buy :)

Certainly, my pleasure. Bear in mind authenticity is an entirely different topic. I hope this helps re qualities - there are examples shown of placement, contrast, photo qualities and more. I wrote it and many good members contributed wonderful additional information which I tried to keep together in the initial post.

NEWLY UPDATED 5.19.18 REWRITE Some of the Qualities of an Autograph...

For me, it appears a rushed signature with poor contrast and placement (and a darn sticker/free advertising billboard/vandalism). I don't know these signatures but quality shows, or not.

Thank you! I know the Twain definitely isn’t the nicest signature with the ink running but I definitely think it’s real I just like hearing other people say it’s real for self assurance lol

Most welcome. "Dude" just gave very sound advice as well. With experience and observation, learning w/o buying, you will eventually no longer need so much external reassurance.

Thanks Eric. And one more thing - you can learn ALOT simply by spending time here and listening/picking up on what Eric, Joe, Ballroom, and others like them are laying down on the regular. This is hands down THE place to learn, practice and share the skills you will undoubtedly pick up by putting in the time! I’ll take a consensus vote here on any given piece anytime and feel pretty darn good about it.

Definitely I am just trying to build up my skills. I feel like I know more than the average joe walking into a field of dreams but still not enough to buy an autograph on the spot without a second opinion. So until I build up the courage what do you all think about the authenticity of that Shania twain lol I know it’s not the best quality in terms of ink but I feel good about it. I feel good about that Tom holland too honestly it just seems like an easy one but I feel good I was just worried about the pixelation

Whenever possible, it’s always better to go for higher quality, in regard to photos and autographs, especially if the price difference isn’t overly significant.
