Hi,

Could anyone help me authenticating these Nirvana autographs please?

This was found in a loft in Paris.

That is the only info I have.

I have also attached another picture of a record found at the same place and time which is also signed.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Thank you in advance!

Yes an assumption but pretty darn good evidence in a court of law that it was signed in France. And those are French names inscribed for further evidence.

There is more evidence to show they are authentic than fake.

Maybe a voters poll would be useful to add to the new AML program

You can see this is easily forged but still from France in a lodge with photos

I don't understand your point Paul

That set is perfect authentic

And so is the In Utero that Steve posted with just the sigs.

You guys are proving that the OP lp's are authentic.

I like the poll idea...just like Survivor!

Ryan,

The seller of yours said they bought it essentially at a garage sale, is that right? Did he say he owned both at one time?

Justin Maser said he bought his directly from the lady who owned the home and that she found them both in a box of records. Why one party didn't buy both is surprising.

I asked for contact info so I could ask the home owner about them. He said he'd ask her if it was OK but it's private so he can't give it to me.

He didn’t mention anything about the other one but I didn’t ask either since I didn’t know there was another one. It should be easy enough to search him out through eBay completed auctions. If you need his eBay id let me know.

for what it’s worth I don’t trust that Iconic really sold it for 11k. I know for a fact that they shill bid their items.

ryan correct about u thoughts on it

I’m no dummy. Been collecting Beatles for over 20 years. Owned a couple of Nirvana sets before Kurt died. Sold them years ago. Would like a set for my collection but I don’t know about the history of forgeries for them.

As a Beatles collector, you're well aware how a style of autographs can be accepted as genuine for years until someone notices a "consistent inconsistency" that identifies the forgery.

To be honest with you, I’m real good with Beatles. Down to the year or sometimes down to the month. If you remember, I’ve called out forgeries in the past including those that people still haven’t picked up on. That just feeds more into the inside hustle that’s going on in autographs these days. You may fool me on nirvana, but never on Beatles. If I was around 20 years ago, I could be Frank. Just sayin.

Yeah Beckett gives them a free pass on their stuff.

Yes Ryan I hate to be a tpa and presented with Nirvana graph! Sometimes you find guys who met Nirvana and had a few items signed and think wow lucky great items and then you see forgers turn out a number and you have to question them.
