I agree with Steve that looking at the Ringo autographs individually they look OK but when compared to what is believed to be genuine examples of Ringo’s signature they become questionable.

The forger could never imagine or anticipate that several examples of his work would be laid out and directly compared to genuine Ringo signatures.  I believe it is fairly clear that the examples Ballroom and Steve have posted in the right hand column are done by the same person and contain consistent variances to know examples of Ringo’s signature.

We agree that different circumstances can create noticeable differences in someone’s signatures however the examples in the right hand column don’t appear to be rushed - quite the contrary they look like they were done in a controlled environment.

Theres an Al Pacino a member posted recently and members on here said it didn’t look right, I myself didn’t give an opinion but I to was Leary about the signature, it turned out to be Beckett wittiness, I know there a huge difference in Pacino and ringo regarding there  consistency,  Al Can sign 4 things in a row and all 4 will be a bit different, with that being said there is still a flow/slant and pressure  that are very unique to each individual and I put a bit more confidence in Perry and Frank to determine those  characteristics, they are far more knowledgeable then I so I will definitely look to them more then my novice skills, I understand that maybe some of you might be more credible then them or more knowledgeable then them regarding signed music memorabilia but I myself I am not as knowledgeable as they are, so I will continue to use them and other professional TPA’S for opinions, after all nothing is 100% it’s all  opinions yours mines and theirs, and their opinion Holds a lot more clout than mines

Frank Caiazoo is the most knowledgeable person on earth regarding Beatles autographs and handwriting. All the so called "bad things" that you guys see in my Ringo autograph, Frank saw them too! Be sure that he saw them. He saw exactly what you see and still he says it's authentic. Maybe he knows something that you don't know? Frank deals only with Beatles handwriting for more than 30 years! Only Beatles! He studied and became expert for 4 guys handwriting. He is the #1 in the world in the field! Who are all these people who say that Frank is wrong? What have they done in their life to have the right to say that Frank Caiazzo is wrong? A little respect people!

That's a very good argument. I might have to rethink this whole thing.

+1

Very well said I totally agree! We’re talking about highly respectable authenticators in Frank and Perry both,

Daniel, are you kidding me?  Are you saying that we should blindly accept one person's opinion, and that if we don't it is showing a lack of respect?  Where in this thread have Perry and Frank been disrespected?  Ballroom did extensive research on what appears to be a fairly recent style of Ringo signatures.  You are saying it is disrespectful for me to look at the evidence and draw my own conclusions?  I'm sorry but I totally disagree with you on this.  You are happy with your signature? That is all that matters.  But please don't lecture us on respect.

Frank and Perry have been researching Beatles signatures for decades, publishing dozens of books on collecting Beatles, writing countless articles in various magazines and newspapers, interviewing countless times. So yes, ordinary people who have a signatures hobby can't wake up one morning and challenge them. This is my opinion. You are entitled to have your own opinion. For me, what they say is holy, no less.

+1 Terrier! RU007, you took Ballroom seriously? I did not.

Well the good thing George and john and ringo aren't signing these days.

I've seen "signed" "Milk & Honey" albums over the years on Ebay. They came with a COA. "AUTOGRAPHS FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE!!!"

While I think to error is human, however what I do also believe in, that at its best, a community of autograph collectors and experts in the field who devote their time and energy to the study of autographs (in this case Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) can communicate in new findings. With the hope being, to both weed out and pin point inconsistent characteristics in a signature study like Ballroom provided. This ONLY helps fellow collectors avoid the real enemy...Forgers who are continuing new methods to fool you, me, and experts to make money.

That is why an open forum like this is critical, I appreciate the work involved and those that remain civil. I don't think the enemy is those who authenticate or offer their opinions at risk of their reputations being attacked...We all need to constantly ask questions and never stop learning.
